Finally something worthy

I've been catching a lot of grief lately for not posting very often on blog, so here goes.  I guess I don't write here much because I feel like up until now my topics have been a little heavy and I wanted to change that, but I didn't know where to go with it.  I don't feel like most days around here are too awful exciting so I'm not sure I can rely on just writing about my life, but today has been quite a day.

I'll start by saying that yesterday was kind of a crappy day.  Our schedule was really off and so the day just seemed "off".  Today, I decided, was going to be better.  I woke up determined.  After breakfast and such was had, Roman went to sleep and I decided it was so cool outside that we should probably play outside for a little while.  We spent much of yesterday cooped up leading to the aforementioned "crappy day" status.  I took the kids outside and they were playing happily while I was drinking my coffee (yes, still drinking coffee at like 10:30. Don't judge me.)  I ran inside to check on Roman and refill my cup and from the kitchen I heard a blood curdling scream.  I ran outside to find this....

I love him, but he's pathetic.  Apparently there was a routine game of Let's-run-or-ride-or-push-anything-we-own-as-fast-as-we-can-down-the-neighbors-hill-of-a-driveway going on with Deacon choosing a baby stroller (we'll address that as a whole separate issue).  He tripped and was lucky enough to have his face break his fall.  Poor kid.  He just can't catch a break these days.  He's tough though.  He was done crying with in 2 minutes and was more interested in seeing how much blood was on the rag.

On with our day.  Our cupboards are Bare with a capital B!  We were gone in KC all weekend and then we've been at VBS at Solid Rock this week so we have pretty much survived on snack food for the last 5 days and I have had enough.  Ok really, we're out of snack food, but either way a grocery store trip was in order.  I didn't have time to come up with any big plan not to mention the fact that we will not be home tonight or tomorrow night for dinner so I decided to just go to the store and wing it.  We're walking through the aisles and Audrey requests a box of Cars themed mac n cheese.  I said no first, because I'm boycotting the kraft mac n cheese (I'm convinced they changed it and its not nearly as good as it used to be) and secondly because I'm desperately trying to rid us of crap (read: processed foods).  I thought about it for a second though and decided that I had nothing for lunch and was feeling kind of lazy so I said we could get some Mac n Cheese for lunch, but we were going to get one of the boxed Velveeta ones.  As I pointed to the ones to choose from Audrey says, "OOOHH this one has broccoli can we get it please please please??"  Deacon pipes up, "Can we get the broccoli kind, Mom?"  I stand there thinking, really?  Am I in the Twilight Zone?  "Sure kids, let's the Broccoli one"  I was less than shocked to open the package to only find a small green bag with about 7 TINY pieces of dried broccoli in it that really resembled marijuana more than broccoli.  And for those of you wondering, Yes, when I put it down in front of her at the table she said, "Ugh....where's the Broccoli?"  And I was proud.

Our day goes on.....Lunch is had and we are settling in for Quiet Time when my phone rings.  Its our realtor calling.  Hi Mary, its 2pm.  They want to come see our house at 2:30.  Sure, that would be no problem. No problem at all....

I pray we sell our house soon.  I also pray I remember about the dirty dishes I stashed in the oven BEFORE I preheat it....
